if you have all your ingredients already in your fermenting vessel, then just pour it in and gently slosh it around for a minute or so to aerate. some like to hydrate, some do not. it's a simple step that usually starts fermentation quicker. i always do it. make sure you don't use liquid hotter than the yeast can tolerate. slightly warm is good.
